Removing the Window Seal

The seal located on the edge of the door just below the window is known as the window seal because it allows the glass to slide without letting water enter the door panel. To remove it, open the door, detach the rectangular-shaped seal flap fixed inside the door, and then pull out the rubber strip that is wedged along the edge of the door. You can also detach the chrome trim that covers the edge of the door by prying it with a plastic tool, taking care not to deform it.
