Follow these steps to remove and replace the gear knob on the manual gearbox of the Mini Cooper. First, get inside the cabin and pull the gear knob upwards with force until it detaches completely; ensure you install the original gear knob to guarantee compatibility. At this point, secure the knob onto the lever in a straight position; then check for any play between the lever and the knob, installing a tie wrap between the gaiter and knob if necessary.
