How do I replace the fuel filler flap on the Mini?

Model: Mini Mini R53, R50, R52 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Fuel cap

To be able to replace the fuel filler flap of the Mini, you need to use one or more objects that act as a lever; these must be used to lift the gasket that surrounds the door, wedged in the appropriate housing. By lifting the gasket, the door can also be removed, as these two pieces are connected. Once the gasket and the relative fuel flap have been removed, they can be replaced by inserting the new gasket and relative flap inside the special housing. When finished, check that it is working correctly.
