As shown in this tutorial, replacing the battery in a Mini Cooper is a very simple and quick task. Before proceeding, ensure that the key is not inserted for safety. Once done, open the bonnet, remove the plastic cover of the battery, and undo the bolts of the upper securing bracket. Next, loosen the nuts of both terminals and disconnect them, always starting with the negative. At this point, grasp the battery, remove it from its housing, and insert the replacement. Reconnect the positive terminal first.
