Reaching the point of needing to replace the gear shift lever is undoubtedly a very rare occurrence, but if you find yourself in that situation and want to give it a try, know that you should proceed as follows: The knob and the boot underneath it are connected to each other and can be pulled off by extracting them from the top, thereby accessing the previously mentioned lever.

This lever can then be disassembled by unscrewing the locking screw at its base, where it transmits the shifts to the gears of the transmission for moving to a higher gear or, conversely, downshifting to a lower gear.
