How to Change the Timing Belt on an Opel Tigra

Remove the cover, the air box, and any hoses that may obstruct your work. Unlock the chain tensioner while holding the pulley steady. To remove the timing belt, ensure the tensioner is not tight. Remove the bolts from the tensioner supports. Take off the pulleys and tensioners, then install the new parts. Now fit the new belt. Finally, reassemble everything you initially removed (cover, air box, etc.). The timing belt on an Opel Tigra should be changed every 8 years or 50,000 miles; if it has a chain, you can go up to double the mileage. Before performing any maintenance of this kind, which is recommended only for experts, it is best to have an assembly diagram for your vehicle's timing system.
