Timing Chain Replacement

Replacing the timing chain is a delicate operation, advisable only for experienced individuals. Obtain the replacement chain, chain tensioner wheels, tensioners, the belt mounting diagram, and special tools. Start by removing components that obstruct the work, such as the pipe and air box, then remove the valve cover. Using a spanner and the appropriate tool, lock the pulley and loosen the chain tensioner. Lever the tensioner to relieve tension and remove the chain. Remove the bolts from the two tensioner supports and take them out. Replace the pulleys and tensioners with the new parts, ensuring all components are reassembled correctly. Install the tensioners and new belts following the assembly diagram. Refit the cover and other removed components.
