Replacement of drum brakes on the Peugeot 206

On the Peugeot 206 we have a mixed braking system, with discs at the front and drums at the rear, so let's see how to replace them. We open the brake fluid reservoir and lift the rear of the car and remove the wheels; remember to release the handbrake. We remove the cover of the rear hub nut, then with a 32 socket we remove the hub nut and then remove the drum, disconnect the cups that hold the brake shoes, then rotate the springs a quarter turn to release them, then pull the brake shoes outwards, then remove the handbrake cable from the clamp, remove the bars, then clean the plate with an iron brush. Before fitting the new brake shoes - which we can find on auto-doc with the code K 61 073 at the price of 68.45 euros per pair + 9.90 euros for shipping - grease all the sealing surfaces, then connect the handbrake cable, place the brake shoes on the plate and reassemble the spring bars and cups for fastening. Mount the drum and the hub nut, with the nut cover. Repeat the operation on the other side.
