How to Replace the Rear Brake Shoes on a Piaggio Vespa PX 125?

Model: Piaggio Vespa Px 150
Part: Brake drums and shoes

Video tutorial

To replace the rear brake shoes on a Piaggio Vespa PX 150, loosen the screws securing the exhaust cover. Once removed, loosen the screws securing the exhaust itself.

By removing the exhaust from its position, you will gain access to the central hub pin, which, when removed, will allow you to take off the wheel and access the rear drum. Here, you can remove the drum brake shoes from the corresponding spring, replacing them with new spare parts.

Once the replacement is done, all parts can be reinserted.

How to Replace the Piston on a Derbi GPR 125

To replace the piston on a Derbi GPR 125, loosen the bolts securing the cylinder head to its housing, allowing it to be removed along with the valve cover. This will enable you to access the bolts securing the cylinder at the top of the engine, allowing for its complete removal and revealing the underlying piston. The piston can now be freed from its securing bolts, enabling you to position the new piston onto the corresponding conrod. After installation, refit the engine components.
