Run the scooter engine for a few minutes to make the oil warmer and therefore more liquid. As shown in the video, unscrew the lower drain plug and collect the used oil in a tray. It is advisable to also open the upper filling hole immediately in order to avoid vacuum and facilitate the escape of the lubricant. While the oil is running out, you can change the relative filter which will be enough to unscrew and extract. Before inserting the new filter, remember to lubricate the o-ring, also using the old oil. Tighten the bottom hole and insert the new lubricant from the filling hole.

Change the Ducati Hypermotard engine oil and oil filter

Below we will see the main steps that will allow us to carry out the routine maintenance service, replacing the engine oil and oil filter of the Ducati Hypermotard motorcycle. First of all we put the stand on our motorbike and we begin to unscrew the vent bolt that we find under the engine, letting it drain in a container for about ten minutes; then we go and unscrew the oil filter cartridge, screwing the new one by hand and then gently tighten it, as shown in the video. Finally, unscrew the filler cap and top up again!
