How do you remove the external door panel on a Smart Fortwo? Here’s how to proceed: before starting the disassembly, disconnect the battery terminals located in the front engine compartment. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the securing screws on the internal door panel, then detach the rubber seal next to the glass. Using a lever, release all the clips of the door panel by prying around the entire perimeter of the door. Finally, pull the panel away with your hands. Reassemble everything in reverse order.
