If you need to top up the oil on a Smart car, you need to know that the oil dipstick for checking the level is located behind, in the trunk. So you need to lift the upholstery and the metal floor until you find the noticeable yellow cap that hides the dipstick. Of course, from here we can also top up the oil, using a funnel and synthetic oil. We can use SAE 5W30 if we live in a colder climate, or SAE 10W40 if we live in a hotter area. In reality, the difference is small. One favors lower starting temperatures, the other higher temperatures, but both are valid.
