To change the motor oil of a Suzuki V-Strom 650, start by putting the motorcycle on the center stand to ensure it is stable and level. First, run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil, making it more fluid and easier to drain. Turn off the engine and locate the oil drain plug, located under the engine. Place a container to collect the old oil under the drain plug. Use an allen key to unscrew the plug and let all the oil drain out completely. Make sure to clean the drain plug and its magnet from any metal residues before screwing it back in place. Tighten the drain plug securely, being careful not to over-tighten it to avoid damaging the threads. Now, locate the oil filler cap on the top of the engine. Remove it and, using a clean funnel, gradually pour in the new oil, regularly checking the level to avoid exceeding the recommended amount. Once the correct level is reached, close the filler cap and start the engine for a few minutes, checking for any leaks. Turn off the engine again and check the oil level to ensure it is adequate, adding more if necessary. Finally, dispose of the old oil properly at an authorized collection center.
