Actually, here we are talking about replacing the damaged cup holder that was already present in this Toyota Avalon. It is a part that we found on eBay for $24.77. We start by removing the old piece from its housing, applying force from the inside of the central console compartment. Then, there are two screws that we need to remove in order to pull out the damaged piece. After cleaning the area where we need to reassemble the cup holder (in fact, the reason it could have been damaged was due to extreme neglect it was subjected to), we proceed to install the new piece, which is connected to the compartment only by the two screws we had removed earlier. Now, the mechanism works perfectly.
