This guide describes how to replace the engine oil and oil filter on a Triumph Bonneville T100/T120 from 2009 to 2015. Obtain 4 litres of Castrol Power1 SAE 10W40 oil and an HIFLO HF204 oil filter. Position the motorcycle on the side stand. Start the engine, allow it to reach temperature, and then switch off. Place a container for the used oil underneath the engine. Use a ratchet and a 17 mm socket to remove the oil drain plug located under the engine. Allow the oil to drain and clean the plug thoroughly. Use a socket wrench to remove the oil filter located under the rear side of the engine. Lubricate the gasket of the new oil filter and screw it in by hand, then tighten it a turn with the wrench. Refit the oil drain plug. Open the oil filler cap located on the right side of the crankcase. Pour in 3 litres of oil and start the engine for one minute, then switch off. Check the oil level through the inspection hole located under the crankcase (the manufacturer states 3.5 litres with the oil filter).
