In this video, we see how to remove the engine cover of a Volkswagen Rabbit. This is a necessary operation if we want to perform various engine maintenance tasks. The engine in this case is a 2.5 5-cylinder. We will need a 20mm Torx screwdriver, a large pair of pliers, and a bowl to keep the screws that we will remove.

First, we need to remove the screws that hold the air hose in place. Then, we remove the sensor from the air hose, near the screws we just removed, and another larger sensor on the top.

Now, we will remove the clamp that holds the air hose in place, which will allow us to remove it. We can then lift the corners of the cover upwards and remove it. The air filter remains on the cover - if we want, we can remove and replace it. Now, the spark plugs are visible and accessible.

To put it back in place, we need to proceed in reverse by repositioning it and simply pushing it down, and putting the air hose and the two sensors back in place.
