In reality, this operation becomes necessary around 50,000 miles, involving flushing and changing the oil. The flushing process consists of injecting clean oil (after removing the used oil) into the small cavities and tubes that make up the inside of this type of gearbox, which cannot be emptied by simply opening the sump. A special machine is required for this operation, and it must be performed by a professional workshop; it is not something you can do yourself. Additionally, if your vehicle has just exceeded the 50,000-mile mark (for example, 62,000/68,000 miles), you can still perform the flush, but if you are over 124,000/155,000 miles, it is better to avoid it, as you risk causing more damage; we hope that our gearbox lasts as long as possible without further interventions.
