(Various brands) Various - Video tutorial
Model: (Various brands) Various
In this video we see how it is possible to avoid the problems that are normally found on Puretech engines from Citroen and Peugeot: they are both engines that have a timing belt immersed in oil. From the analysis done by the youtuber, it appears that the oil suction fungus tends to clog due to residues from the belt rubber. The reason is the deterioration of the oil inside, where these rubber microgranules coagulate and tend to clog the suction fungus: The risk is engine failure due to lack of lubrication. The solution is to use an additive for oil cleaning. Just pour it into the oil, let it work for about 15 minutes at idle. Then drain all the oil. Another very important thing is to use high quality oil, recommended by the manufacturer, in order to create less wear on the timing belt, perhaps adding a good additive to the new oil.
