How to Unlock the Fuel Flap on a Volkswagen Golf Mk5

To unlock the fuel flap on your Volkswagen Golf Mk5, open the boot and remove the side fabric cover. Then, locate the motor for opening the fuel flap. Using your hands, take the plastic rod of the motor and pull it to the right to unlock the latch, and vice versa to lock it. Open and remove the flap to allow for replacement. Replace the flap or lock (if damaged) with a new one of the same size and type.
