The following steps will show us how to disassemble and replace the third brake light and its bulbs on a Volkswagen Golf. First, move to the back and start prying on the side of the brake light until it comes off completely; then disconnect the electrical connector of the bulbs found on the back, as shown in the video.

At this point, replace the third brake light bulbs or the entire brake light, making sure to connect it properly; check the brake light functionality before securing the light onto the rear hatch!
