In the unfortunate case that we need to open the hood of our Volkswagen Passat and the key battery is dead and not working, there is a possibility to do so by removing the front emblem of the car. In fact, this can be unscrewed, and from here we can access the hood opening mechanism from underneath. By inserting a screwdriver or an Allen key into the opening we obtained in this way, we can manage to unlock the latch so that it can be opened and the hood can be released in the "open" mode. At that point, we can lift it up normally with our hands and perform the necessary operations.
