To replace the battery on a Volkswagen Passat, open the bonnet and locate the battery in the engine bay. Remove any plastic covers that protect it. Turn off the vehicle and disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive. Unscrew the mounting bracket at the base of the battery and remove it. Carefully extract the old battery, then place the new one in the same housing, ensuring the orientation of the terminals is correct.

Secure the battery with the bracket and connect the positive terminal first, then the negative, making sure the terminals are tight. Reattach the covers and turn on the ignition to check the system's proper functioning.
