Replacing Rear Light Bulbs on Volkswagen Golf 7

Lift the boot lid and remove the plastic cover on the inside of the boot, behind the affected light. To remove this cover, use a plastic wedge to pry it open at the seams. At this point, disconnect the connector and manually pull out the housing where the bulbs are fixed. Once done, unscrew any burnt-out bulb and fit the new one. Reassemble the housing and reconnect the connector, fit the cover back, and check the correct operation of all the bulbs. It's that simple!
