Locate the chassis number on a Volkswagen Tiguan MK2

There are situations where it is important to accurately and quickly locate the chassis number of your vehicle. Everyone knows that the chassis number displayed on the windscreen is a "courtesy" number intended to make life easier for dealers and little else. The "legal" chassis number, which the DVLA or police want to verify against your vehicle registration document during a check, is stamped on the chassis itself, and each model, indeed each version, has a different location. In the case of the Volkswagen Tiguan MK2, the chassis number is located under the triangular rubber grille at the end of the windscreen, on the passenger side.
