Dismantling the Armrest

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

To completely dismantle the armrest, including the support bracket, remove the central tunnel cover. Start by removing the side plastic cover of the armrest to access the fixing pin and unscrew it to remove the armrest itself. Next, begin dismantling the rear part of the tunnel cover by removing the upper portion of the ashtray, followed by the lower part and then the front fixing screws of the cover. Once the plastic cover of the tunnel is lifted, you can unscrew the fixing pins of the armrest support plate.
