How to disassemble the rear tailgate of the Volkswagen Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

Today's steps will show us how to disassemble and replace the rear tailgate of the Volkswagen Passat. First, we open the rear tailgate and start dismantling and removing the panel by unscrewing the fixing screws; then we disconnect the electrical wiring and detach both hydraulic pistons, using something thin and pointed, as shown in the video. At this point, we unscrew the hinge screws to remove and replace the rear tailgate if necessary, making the connections and adjusting the rear tailgate of the trunk!
