To remove the inner trim of the tailgate on the Volkswagen Passat, open the tailgate to access the inner trim. This can be removed by pulling out the four rivets that secure it. There will be two on the lower side of the panel and two on the upper centre. Once these are removed, you can completely detach the inner trim panel from the tailgate, allowing it to be replaced with a new spare part.
