The following steps will show us how to disassemble and possibly replace the inner panel of the rear tailgate of the Volkswagen Passat. First, open the rear tailgate of the trunk and start removing the plastic cover of the handle grip; remove the other two access covers to the bulbs, as shown in the video. At this point, unscrew the screws found inside and pry on the sides of the rear tailgate to detach and remove it; this way it will be possible to access the rear wiper mechanism and the lock, finally reassembling the plastic lining.
