Answer

The temperature control system of your Opel Astra 1.3 cdti is of the "variable valve timing" type. It therefore has 2 activation controls, one electric and one thermal. The first begins to open at 86Â ° / 87Â ° (90Â ° for petrol) the second at 102Â ° (105Â ° for petrol). The thermostat (thermal) is located on the right side of the engine, near the coolant reservoir. The temperature sensor (electric) is instead located on the left side of the radiator and is the one that gives consent to the engine control unit to activate the fan. Finally, there is an additional sensor "drowned" in the body of the thermostat.
