Replacing Brake Pads and Discs

Model: Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo Gt MK 1 - Years 2003-2010

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the front wheel. Using a flat screwdriver, detach the retaining spring of the pads; remove the protective caps from the brake caliper fastening pins and unscrew them to remove the caliper and the worn pads (if necessary, lever between the disc and pads to retract the piston and facilitate removal). Using a C-clamp, fully retract the piston to allow for the insertion of the new pads. Then proceed to dismantle the caliper bracket and the disc fastening bolt to the hub. Clean and grease the hub before applying the new disc, which should be cleaned of any protective oil residue. Once the disc is secured to the hub, reattach the caliper bracket, insert the new pads, and finally reposition the caliper and the retaining spring (connect the wear sensor plug if present).
