The tutorial begins with the fairing already removed. Using a cross-head screwdriver, unscrew the screw that secures the fairing hook (be careful of any washer) and remove the hook itself. Unscrew the nut underneath using a socket or an adjustable spanner. That's it! This is all you need to do to extract the lock. Similarly, fitting the new lock will be straightforward. To do this, insert it into place and reverse the process by first fitting the nut, then the hook, and finally screwing in the initially removed screw. Refit the fairing and the seat, and check its operation.
