How to activate the Travel Assist and Emergency Brake Assist on the Audi A4 E-Tron.

Model: Audi Q4 MK 1 - Years 2021-2026
Part: Onboard computer

What are Travel Assist and Emergency Brake Assist on the Audi A4 E-tron? They are Level 2 semi-automatic driving systems that combine Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering Assist, which maintain distance and speed while actively centering the vehicle in its lane: this function works from 0 km/h and even in traffic jams. The EBA is an automatic emergency braking system that detects pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, alerting the driver and, if necessary, automatically braking to avoid or mitigate a collision. Activation, if the car is already equipped with detection devices, must be done by a specialized workshop; it is not a DIY operation because, in addition to specialized equipment, a technical understanding of the vehicle's electronics is also required. If, on the other hand, we do not have the detection devices but only the "ACC" and "LANE ASSIST" buttons on the steering wheel, then it is necessary to follow a technical procedure to activate the necessary software and, if needed, install a dedicated rear camera.
