How to Reset the Maintenance Light on a 2012 Audi A3?

Model: Audi A3 - Years 2003-2013
Part: Service warning light

To reset the maintenance light on a 2012 Audi A3, the procedure depends on the type of service. The manual reset from the dashboard works only for the engine oil: turn on the ignition, press the right button on the instrument cluster until "Service" appears, then hold it for about 5 seconds until the display shows the new interval. This resets the oil counter, but does not remove the service wrench light. To eliminate that, a diagnostic tool (VCDS, OBDeleven or similar) is required, connected to the OBD port. The procedure involves entering module 17 (Instrument Cluster), selecting Adaptation, and setting the maintenance channels to 0. Without a diagnostic tool, the only alternative is to go to a qualified workshop.
