To reset the Service light on a 1997 Audi A4, insert the key and turn on the ignition. Next, press and hold the right button located on the speedometer until several lights illuminate in sequence. You can release the button when the word "SERVICE" appears in the center of the display. At this point, press and hold the left button on the speedometer until the message "OK!" replaces the word "SERVICE". The reset will then be complete, and you can turn off the ignition.
