How to Replace the Key Battery of an Audi A4

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004

Start by inserting the head of a small flathead screwdriver into the slot in the middle of the key. This will slightly open the key; to fully open it, simply pull apart. Once the key is separated into two parts, set the upper half aside temporarily, as you will be working on the lower half of the key. To access the battery, gently pull on the vertical half of the lower part of the battery. When you have access to the battery, use a flathead screwdriver to remove it. To install the new battery and reassemble the key, simply follow the steps in reverse, and you will have successfully completed the battery replacement.
