Instructions for Removing the Muffler

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004
Part: Exhaust muffler

To remove the muffler, it is advisable to place the vehicle on automotive ramps to lift it sufficiently for easier access to the undercarriage; also, wait for the muffler to be completely cool for safe handling; then, unscrew the bolts securing the clamp located in the center that connects the rear section to the front; once the clamp is freed, separate the two pipes and detach the support rubber mounts to complete the removal (it is recommended to spray some penetrating oil on the mounts).

If the central locking system of the Volkswagen Golf 4 is not working, it is likely necessary to reset the system: to do this, open the driver's door and detach the side panel of the dashboard next to the steering wheel.
