To change the engine oil of a BMW R 1200RT, start by lifting the motorcycle on a central stand or using a side stand to ensure a stable and horizontal position. Once lifted, place a container under the engine to collect the used oil. Locate the oil drain plug, which is usually located at the bottom of the engine crankcase, and unscrew it using a socket wrench or an adjustable wrench. Let it drain completely until no more oil comes out. After draining the old oil, reinstall the drain plug, screwing it tightly. Then proceed to pour the new oil through the fill plug, which is usually located on the top of the engine. Make sure to use the specific oil recommended by the manufacturer. Once the filling is complete, check for any leaks and start the engine for a few minutes to circulate the oil, then turn it off and check the level. Finally, dispose of the used oil properly and check the oil level to ensure it is correct.
