To change the motor oil of a BMW R-NineT 1200, place the motorcycle on a stable surface and preferably lift it on a central stand. Make sure the engine is slightly warm to facilitate the oil drainage, then remove the oil filling cap located on the top of the engine to allow a faster outflow. Place a collection basin under the drain plug, located at the bottom of the engine. Unscrew the drain plug with a suitable wrench, allowing all the old oil to completely drain out. Once the flow stops, reassemble the drain plug and make sure it is tightly secured to prevent leaks. At this point, add the new oil through the top opening, checking the level with the indicator to ensure you do not exceed the recommended limit. Finally, briefly start the engine and check the level again, adjusting if necessary to achieve the ideal amount.
