Descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil and oil filter on a BMW GS1250. Obtain 4 litres of BMW Advantic SAE 5W40 oil and HIFLO HF160 oil filter. Position the motorcycle on the centre stand. Place a container for collecting the waste oil under the engine. Start the engine until it reaches 90°C, then switch off. Using a T30 Torx key, unscrew the screws of the engine guard located under the engine. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the oil filler neck located under the seat. Using a ratchet and a 45 Torx socket, unscrew the oil drain plug located under the engine. Clean the plug and allow all the oil to drain out. Using an oil filter wrench, unscrew the oil filter located at the front of the engine. Before screwing in the new filter, lubricate the seal. Screw it in by hand first and then tighten with the oil filter wrench by one turn. Screw in the drain plug. Pour in the engine oil, referring to the inspection hole located under the cover.
