To replace the service belt on a BMW R 1200 GS, loosen the bolts securing the panel located at the lower front of the bike, just behind the front wheel. Once this panel is removed, you will have access to the pulleys around which the belt is located: it can be removed by loosening the central nut that secures the lower pulley. At this point, you can remove the belt and insert the new replacement part; the central nut of the pulley can then be secured, and the protective plastic panel can be reinstalled.
