Replacing the Alternator Belt on BMW R 1200 GS

Model: Bmw R 1200 Gs
Part: Alternator

Video tutorial

First, as clearly shown in the video, remove the lower front fairing in front of the engine compartment. This will give you access to the central bolt that keeps the alternator belt tensioned.

The tool shown in the video is a special clamp that aids the operation by loosening the bolt more easily. Using this tool is not absolutely necessary.

Simply loosen the aforementioned bolt to remove the alternator belt from its seat. Correctly fit the new belt (in the same way the original was fitted) and tighten the bolt.

Refit the fairing.

To replace the clutch lever on the Sherco SEF 300, you need to loosen the screws that secure the lever to its housing on the left side of the handlebars. Once these screws are loosened, you can unscrew the nut at the base of the lever to disconnect the clutch cable attached to the corresponding lever. Once the cable is detached, the lever can be removed from its housing and replaced with a new spare part; after installation, ensure that it functions correctly.
