Window Regulator Mechanism Replacement

Model: BMW X5 E70 - Years 2007-2013
Part: Power window motor

The first step is to remove the door panel by taking off the trim, the protective caps covering the mounting screws, the window switch panel, and releasing the clips along the edges.
Next, unscrew the fastening pins of the side airbag and remove it by disconnecting the related connector.
Then, peel off the soundproofing panel using a utility knife to cut the silicone edge without tearing the covering.
Reconnect the switch panel to lower the window until the glass mounting clips are accessible for removal (optionally reconnect the airbag to avoid triggering the warning light) to extract the glass itself and temporarily secure it to the door frame with tape. Then, detach the window scraper seals (both inner and outer) and completely remove the window glass.
At this point, unscrew the fastening pins of the glass sliding guides, disconnect the connector from the motor, and extract the entire motor assembly from the door.
Then, disassemble the window motor to install it on the new mechanism and proceed in reverse for reassembly.
