Instructions for Removing the Power Window Mechanism

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006

To remove the rear power window mechanism, you must first take off the door panel. Before starting to remove the panel, you need to detach the support for the triangular glass that is attached to the door pillar with metal spring clips. Simply pry at both ends to release it. At this point, remove the trim on the panel, disconnect the lock cable from the handle, and unclip the pressure fasteners along the edges to remove the panel, disconnecting the respective connectors. Then remove the outer weatherstrip and the window guide to extract the glass and complete the removal of the power window mechanism along with the motor.
