How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW X3

Model: BMW X3 MK 1, E83 - Years 2003-2010

To reset the maintenance light on a BMW X3, pull the handbrake, close the doors, and keep the instrument cluster off. Press and hold the button located on the side of the odometer; simultaneously, turn on the instrument cluster without starting the engine. At this point, the display will say "test". Release the odometer button, then press and hold it again. When the "test" message starts to blink, release the button and press it once. When the next service interval appears, press and hold the button until "end" appears. Now you can turn off the instrument cluster. The reset is complete.
