Removing External Rearview Mirror

To remove the external rearview mirror, you first need to take off the door panel because the inner trim located just behind the mirror mount, beneath which are the tweeter and the mirror mounting pins, has an undercut compared to the panel itself; once the panel is removed, take off the trim behind the mirror, disconnect the tweeter, and unscrew the mounting pins, including the one under the gasket, and disconnect the connector for the adjustment controls. You can also detach the internal mirror by gently pulling it to access the tabs securing the outer cover and remove the internal adjustment unit.
