Operation: How to overhaul the starter motor of a Citroen C3

We revise the starter motor of our Citroen C3. After having extracted the starter motor, we unscrew the fixing pins and the coil screw; we unscrew the pins that keep the reel stationary; when we disassemble the pieces, let's write down where they go, or take pictures, to be sure to reassemble them in the right place! We detach the lid of the brushes and look at how worn they are. We detach the dust cover with a thin screwdriver, being careful not to damage it. We eliminate all the old grease from the gears and replace it with new one. Let's reassemble the dust cover now. We remove the cappelletto with tweezers, and with this we also remove the cotter pin that stops the axis and the washers. After cleaning the container, we also clean the contacts. Now we can reposition the winding and lock it with the cotter pin. We fit the spring on the new support with a little pressure, then we position the new brushes and the gasket. We rest everything on the motor and, keeping the support firmly, lower the springs. We leave the negative pole inside and put the lid in place. We are ready for assembly; we grease and close everything: work finished, we can reposition the overhauled motor in its place.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
