How Does the Highway Driver Assist System Work on the Citroen C5X?

Let's look at how the Highway Driver Assist system works, a level 2 semi-autonomous driving system on the Citroen C5X: it can adjust speed and direction using a combination of advanced driver assistance systems. It automatically sets the speed and trajectory, in conjunction with adaptive cruise control, the start & stop system, and the lane departure warning system. It is particularly suitable for motorways and dual carriageways. This system operates when the adaptive cruise control and start & stop systems are activated. You must press the two related buttons, which will light up green when operational. If the button light is orange, this indicates a malfunction. To deactivate this function, press the button again. You must keep the steering wheel in the correct position. The system only provides corrections to maintain the vehicle's position. When the vehicle in front slows down, your vehicle will adjust its speed to match the preceding vehicle, up to a complete stop. If the vehicle in front restarts within three seconds, your vehicle will do so automatically; otherwise, you will need to do it manually by pressing the accelerator.
