Replacement of the External Rear View Mirror Seal

Model: Citroen 2cv MK 1 - Years 1948-1990

Obtain the replacement seal. Remove the external mirror from the vehicle and secure it in a vice. Gently remove the broken outer seal, retrieving the mirror and setting it aside. Clean the metal edge thoroughly with solvent to eliminate any residues. Using a neutral lubricant such as petroleum jelly or talcum powder, lightly grease the inside of the seal to ensure it adheres perfectly to the edge. Also grease the inside of the edge. Wearing gloves and safety glasses, push the mirror into the seal until it is firmly secured.
