A modern vehicle usually has multiple ground straps, but the most important one typically connects from the engine to the negative battery terminal or the frame. It helps prevent voltage spikes or short circuits. With a faulty ground strap, for example, the alternator may not charge the battery properly, or the vehicle's headlights may flicker or remain dim. A ground strap costs about ten dollars on major e-commerce platforms. However, it is not easy to locate and replace, as we see in the video, where our YouTuber struggles to find it and pull it out from its housing on the engine of the Dodge Caravan. Repositioning it doesn't seem any easier, as the working space is really tight. However, the way to put it back is intuitive, and it is easier to reattach it to a metal part with the clip than to remove it. Job completed.
