Let's see how to proceed to replace the battery on a Ducati Monster 796. We open and remove the seat, unscrew the screws that fix the flange around the fuel cap and those that fix the two half-shells that cover the tank, and remove everything. Unscrew and remove the plastic panel under the seat in order to also unscrew the screw that fixes the tank. On the left side, we will find a bolt that secures the tank to the frame, so we also unscrew this in order to be able to remove and lift the tank from its seat after disconnecting, and temporarily plugging, the gasoline vapor vent tube. We now have access to the battery, disconnect the terminals from the poles and release the securing strap, remove the old battery and replace it with a new one. Reconnect the terminals, paying attention to the correct polarity, secure the strap, and reassemble everything by reversing the operations.
